This picture was taken way back in December, 2006 during the live mini concert photoshoot with Sufri and Yati. F4.5, 1/2s ISO400, captured RAW and conversion was done with Aperture 1.5.1, filtered with noise ninja, editing was carried out with CS2 for removal of a dustbin on the left of the picture.

Rolantos Contagious mosque...

This is SOAS mosque, the most photographed landmark in Brunei, this was taken during an outing sometime last january, taken at 14mm (28mm) wide, which was not wide enough..i wished i had a 7(14)mm lens.

Photography Competition To Mark His Majesty's 61st Birthday

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Photographers Association of Brunei Darussalam will organise a photography competition and exhibition to mark the 61st birthday of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

The event is organised jointly with the executive administrative committee of His Majesty's birthday celebration for the Brunei-Muara District.

The event is aimed at glorifying the birthday celebration of His Majesty and to expose potential and talented shutterbugs. It is also held to stimulate interest in techniques and art of photography as well as to give cooperation in promoting the Sultanate through photographic exhibition.

The four categories in the competition are "Potraits of His Majesty", "Faces of Brunei", "Get-Together Session with His Majesty" and "The Beauty of Negara Brunei Darussalam" For the "Wajah-Wajah Abadi" or Potraits of His Majesty, the category is open to citizens and permanent residents of the country and black and white photographs of His Majesty could also be submitted.

For "Wajah-Wajah Brunei" or Faces of Brunei category, it is for VIPs and should portray the pictures of Bruneians and their lifestyles such as fishing, padi harvesting, craftmaking, performing religious activities and so on. This category is open to members of the royal family, ministers, deputy ministers, permanent secretaries and their deputies, diplomats, heads of departments and their deputies, directors and managers of the private sector.

The category of "Bersama Rakyat (KDYMM Bersama Rakyat)" or Get- Together Session is open to citizens and permanent residents while for the final category under the heading "Negara Brunei

Darussalam Indah dan Permai" or The Beauty of Brunei, the photos should depict the surrounding and latest events highlighting the uniqueness and beauty of Brunei. This category is open to citizens and permanent residents.

The deadline to submit applications is June 29 by 5.30pm. Entry forms can be submitted to the Secretary of the exhibition and competition at the Rasa Ceria Cafe at the SEAMEO-VOCTECH in An Pasar Gadong.

The exhibition is expected to be held during His Majesty's Get-Together Session with residents in the Brunei-Muara District on July 22.

The entry fee for all the categories is $10 for non-members and $5 for members of the association. Late entries will be charged $10 for every photo submitted. Entries are limited to four photographs for every category. The prize money ranges from $800 to $100.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin

Pitot and AOA sensor.

Hello again, this is a picture of Pitot probe and the AOA (angle of attack) sensor fitted to a Boeing 767-200 aircraft. A quick description on the Pitot Static system,

Aircraft constantly encounter atmosphere pressure changes as they climb, descend, accelerate or decelerate. The pitot-static system - sensitive to airspeed, altitude, and rates of altitude change - provides the pressure information displayed on cabin instrumentation.

An outside air temperature sensor must be installed for air data systems.

The airspeed indicator is vented to both pitot and static lines. The airspeed indicator reacts to changes between pitot air and static air. The altimeter and vertical speed indicator, however, require venting to only the static line (see Venting of a Pitot-Static System above). The system shown employs a heated pitot tube to prevent ice formation, a necessary feature for flight in instrument conditions.

60 Monument.

In conjunction with HM 60th Birthday, this 15th July, this monument was build. I had the oppurtunity with Kevin, Chua, Gary and Myself to shoot this wonderful monument. We started at 9.30pm and had to wait for almost an hour fo the rain to stop.

Tired and alone

This was taken at the Damuan recreation park around few months back. I was with the kids and couldn't help taking few pictures. I've somehow decided to join in the fun on this photoblog.
